Just finished building and testing the MIX. Even thought I’m a seasoned DIY’er I’d still recommend the MIX to beginners. The module design only needs the most common type of components. As usual the component layout is very neat and straightforward which I highly appreciate. SM’s website also has very well laid out build guides with clear instructions. I’m very satisfied and will come back for more.

Apogee sounds absolutely fantastic. The resonance is very musical and responds well to modulation. The Xmod feedback control can get gnarly and wild, but there are lots of sweet spots that dramatically change the sound. I easily lost an hour with just Apogee and modulation from 0-Coast (only processing the square wave) on my first audio test. Didn’t even bother connecting a sequencer or keyboard. I love it already.
